How to change app icons on macOS

Step by step

    Download the icon you want from macOSicons.com

    Choose an icon and download the .icns file to a folder you can find quickly.

    Find the app in Finder and open Get Info

    Right-click the app in Finder and choose Get Info to open the Info window.

    Drag the file onto the current icon

    Drop the downloaded .icns file on the small icon at the top-left of the Info window.

Tip: if the new icon doesn’t show up right away, quit and reopen the app, or run “killall Dock” in Terminal. Some apps may reset their icon after an update.
